With a selection of fourty-seven giant dice designs, these dice come to you from the planet’s largest manufacturer of giant dice for education and fun. Considered by some as a revolutionary educational tool, these dice offer a valuable new pedagogy.
Giant dice size: The size of these dice are 38cm x 38cm x 38cm or 15 inches x 15 inches x 15 inches. They are designed to be big for children to handle, but still a good size to be thrown from the age of 3 years old through to adults.
What are giant dice made of? We have chosen to make these dice from a 250 gram, tough sports fabric with excellent wearability and washability. This fabric can take the wear of being tossed repeatedly and more than occasionally jumped on. The print on each dice is permanently embedded within the fabric and so is highly durable.
Fabrication of our giant dice: Having used the most durable of fabrics, with a delightful tactile feel, we over-lock each hem of the dice to ensure it’s strong and able to provide years of trusty service. A zip is sewn into three sides of one face to create the flip top lid for each dice. If you choose, what this allows is for you to have three or four giant dice liners, ready to use and to simply slip off and slide on, another skin of a different giant dice content as you need. In doing this, you save space, money in having to fill a large number of dice and you can have more and a varied subject content for the dice - all of which increases the value of these giant dice as a resource.
Care of your giant dice: All our dice are able to be emptied of their fillings and washed on a warm, gentle cycle in a washing machine. This keeps your dice looking as good as the day you first received it. In washing, please do not use harsh bleaching agents as this may cause excessive fading of the print.
Shipping of giant dice: You’d expect a giant dice to be a “giant” size, and as would be expected this has a big impact on the cost of shipping it to you. So our normal recommendation is to buy the filling locally from one of the suggested sources listed below. |

Giant Dice filling – the choices Our dice have been designed to be filled with polystyrene beads used to fill bean bags. This gives the dice a delightful feel and a light weight of only 750 grams or 1.7 lb which is so easy for a three year old to throw. Filling a dice will take approximately 50 liters (1.9 ft ³) of materials… Here’s a video on how we fill the giant dice.
Eco-friendly dice fillings: Whilst our dice have been designed for filling with bean bag beads, there are other eco-friendly options. - crumple up old newspapers into small balls around 2.5 cm or 1 inch round and place them inside the dice. As children jump on the dice, this will compress, so you’ll need to be prepared to re-charge the dice occasionally. - make paper mache balls and fill the dice. This will more easily survive robust play and not require the extra refills of just newspapers. Making the filling is short work for 10 or more children. - fill with straw, hay, pea straw or chaff. All of this can be found at your local grain and fodder or animal feed stores. You could even fill with dried grass or leaves. - you can find and recycle old pillows or foam mattresses into 2.5cm or 1 inch squares and use this as filling. You may also find in shops PU granules or similar that can be used as filling.
A work of caution on dice filling: Styrene bean bag beads, offer a low cost, low weight option for filling our dice. The enviro-friendly choices offered here may cause the dice to be of a weight where it is not easy for 3 year olds to use them – so take care.
Giant Dice safety advice: When our giant dice are filled with bean bag beads, we do not recommend use of our giant dice for children younger than 3 years old. Children MUST NOT open the zip of the bag without adult supervision as there is a risk of suffocation from placing the beads in their mouth. If young children were to use the dice, we recommend some of the more eco-friendly filling options. It is prudent to keep the giant dice away from all sharp objects as there is a risk of rupturing the dice and spilling its contents. For greater safety in use we strongly recommend all giant dice have an internal filler bag. This may be filled and placed, zip down – that is away from the zip on the giant dice - it offers greater ease for washing the giant dice and safety where safety is a concern. These bags are available for $45.00 each and are purchased at the checkout.
